What is the MedTech Accelerator®?
The MedTech Accelerator® is a 6 months program to help you boost and de-risk your project.
It helps you with business as well as healthtech-specific content via collective and individual coaching sessions. It is also an opportunity for you to book time with yourself in order to take a step back and take your project in the right direction.
Over these 6 months, you will meet with peers who are facing similar challenges and with the Belgian HealthTech ecosystem (hospitals, insurances, labs, investors, sick funds, alumni, etc.)
Which companies / projects are eligible?
You are eligible if:
- Your project is an innovative healthtech solution
- Your company / project is located or will soon be located in Brussels
- Your company hasn’t been created yet or has been created for less than 5 years
How much does it cost?
The MedTech Accelerator® is worth more than 20K per project but thanks to the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), we are able to make it accessible to any healthtech enthusiast!
The registration fees for the MedTech Accelerator® 2023 are listed in the table below. They depend on your type of organization as well as your date of registration. The fees apply per company / project, regardless of the number of people attending the workshops.

A refundable guarantee of € 300 (incl. VAT) is also requested. This guarantee will be refunded at the end of the program if you (and / or your colleague(s)) attend at least 80% of the sessions and if you take part to the mandatory sessions (the expert committee presentations & the closing ceremony).
The registration fees should not be an obstacle to your participation to the program. If you are in this situation, please contact us before filling in this form. As part of the public agency for the economic development of the Brussels region, Lifetech.brussels’ goal is to make this program available to startups / projects that could benefit from it and disrupt the healthtech market.
What should I know before submitting my project?
“Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration” (Thomas Edison): Creating your startup takes time and this time is crucial to turn your innovative idea into an impactful solution and a successful business. It may seems difficult to find the time at first but in the end, by de-risking your project, by taking a step back to reflect on it, you will avoid mistakes and will not have to start things over. All in all, you will gain a significant amount of time by acquiring the right reflexes.
Based on our experience, we advise entrepreneurs to dedicate at least 10 hours per week on their project while they are in the accelerator program. These 10 hours include the workshops, the “homework”, the individual coaching sessions and some time to work by yourself on your project.

What can I prepare before filling in this form?
The application form takes an average of 30 minutes to complete. Complete the form in English with all the information that you have at this point. Do not include any confidential information.
Before you begin, you should:
- have written a short paragraph explaining your solution, the innovation linked to it and your team;
- have prepared a 1-minute video presenting your motivation to join the MedTech Accelerator® (any formats are welcome – video you’ve made with your phone, a slide presentation with voice over, etc.).
What’s next?
A confirmation email will be sent to you withing the next 48h.
Also, you will receive the invoice within 7 working days after the submission of this form. The deadlines for the payment are respectively 10/02/2022 for the “early birds” and 10/03/2022 for the later registrations. Your registration to the MedTech Accelerator® 2023 will be confirmed only after the payment has been received.
In case you are not selected by the selection committee to participate to the program, the full amount you have paid will be reimbursed as soon as possible after the selection committee.
