MiraPulse is a Medtech start-up whose mission is to provide relief for people suffering from severe menstrual pain.
Statistics reveal that one in ten women experiences severe menstrual pain, enduring agony that can persist for over 10 days and occasionally lead to fainting. Unfortunately, despite the variety of available treatments, approximately 25% of these women remain unresponsive to medication and are unable to find suitable solutions. This situation hinders their ability to lead a normal daily life, leading to absenteeism from work and imposing a physical, emotional, and financial burden.
As a last resort, some women opt for pelvic denervation procedures, which involve cutting the nerves. However, these invasive interventions can be associated with adverse effects.
MiraPulse‘s ambition is to create EVA, an intravaginal medical device specifically designed to reduce severe menstrual pain. The technology, which is currently under development, will be based on targeted electrostimulation of the nerves responsible for the pain in order to reduce the pain perceived by the patient. EVA is designed for user-friendly placement and removal during days of heightened pain, accompanied by a dedicated app for activation and customization of stimulation parameters tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
