Mission
VocoMemo is designed to transform the daily lives of Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers. We offer a device that is easy to use and customizable, supporting the autonomy of patients at home, thereby enabling them to lead a more independent life while simultaneously reducing the mental burden on caregivers.
Device, Operation, and Unique Advantage
The system consists of two main components:
- The Main Vocal Recorder: This portable device is the VocoMemo. It can be discreetly worn as a medallion, bracelet, or attached to a belt. This recorder is responsible for the playback of personalized voice messages, which guide the user in their daily activities.
- The Electronic Tags: These small devices are placed in different rooms of the house. They interact with the VocoMemo to trigger the playback of appropriate voice messages when the patient enters a room. For example, a tag in the kitchen may trigger a reminder to take medication or instructions for preparing a meal.
The VocoMemo utilizes appropriate technology to detect the proximity of the tags. As the patient moves from room to room, the recorder picks up the signal from the corresponding tag and broadcasts the recorded voice message for that specific area. Caregivers can record messages via a mobile app, allowing the experience to be fully customized according to the specific needs of the patient as well as the time and distance for triggering the message.
The VocoMemo user interface is designed to be extremely simple, minimizing the number of buttons and controls to facilitate its use by the patient. The device can also send alerts to caregivers in case of inactivity or other indicators that might require attention.
